Super Party Simulator!

I made a game for Game Jolt Contest #10. It's called Super Party Simulator, and it's weird game made using twine about throwing a party. I've never thrown a party before, but I'm pretty sure this is what it's like.

Jeremy Explores Halloween Land

I made a game in a few hours yesterday. It's called Jeremy Explores Halloween Land and it's about Jeremy's quest to bring peace to Halloween Land and find the Great Pumpkin. I didn't have much time so it's a little glitchy, but it's a good game other than that.

10 seconds

Ludum Dare #27 was this weekend, and the theme was "10 Seconds." I really didn't have any ideas for that, but tried anyway. The result was a very stupid game that I've decided not to publish because it's so horrible. Really horrible. I'm just going to show you my favorite screen from the game, and never talk about it ever again:

Molyjam 2013

Molyjam 2013 was this weekend! If you don't what that is, it's a game jam where you take an out-of-context Peter Molyneux quote and make a game based off of it. The quote I used was "I still have nightmares about holding German sausages over my head". I finished very quickly and made what I think is an excellent game which you can download from HERE.

Trying to post more often

A few miscellaneous projects I've had sitting around for a long time. These may or may not become real games at some point.

Super Groovy Man loses the ability to control when he jumps

Before I introduce this new game, I would like to apologize for how long it took to make this game. Honestly, it should've taken only a week, but I've been distracted and also lazy. I should be working on my games more than I do.

Anyway, my new game is Super Groovy Man loses the ability to control when he jumps. It is a game where you jump every 2.25 seconds and must be careful to time your movements to when you'll jump.

I feel that it's not complete. I didn't completely explore as many possible gameplay mechanics that I could've. Perhaps you could've collected things which delay your next jump? Or maybe there could've been conveyor belts? Or millions of other ideas? But if I'd done that, it'd probably never get finished, and eventually I'd just abandon it.

Anyway, I don't think I'll be making another platform game for a while. I feel that my platform games are becoming too similar, and that I'd benefit from introducing more variety in my games. So, I will probably continue my much-delayed development of Enlightenment, and probably make a game for Molyjam 2013. I'm just going to leave with a screenshot of Enlightenment:

Line Game!

Ludum Dare #26 happened over the weekend, and the theme was "Minimalism". I ended up making Line Game. I think that it's somewhat boring, and much harder than I wanted it to be. But still, I'm happy that I was able to finish it. You can download it HERE.

Game jams/PAKYWLTU update/Enlightenment

Two different game jams are going to be happening over the weekend, the Ludum Dare and the GMC Jam. I'm most definitely go to participate in one of those, and I'll probably choose the one with the best theme.

I'm planning to update Press A Key You Would Like To Use. I've already fixed a lot of glitches, and am planning to add some sort of audio to it.

Also, because I felt like this post needed something extra, here's a screenshot from Enlightenment:

Endurance Breakout II

Huzzah! Endurance Breakout II is here! It's the sequel to my extremely successful game, Endurance Breakout. This time however, the ball moves at a reasonable speed, which makes for a much better experience, in my opinion. Download it HERE.

Minimalist Roguelike Updated

I added some things to The Minimalist Roguelike. My friends wanted me to change the color of the coins so they would be more visible, along with some other things.

Full list of updates:
-Shooting stairs with magic makes them magic stairs!
-Coin color changed
-Dwarves added
-Level feelings added
-A few glitches were fixed
-Limited the amount of magic you could have at one time to 999

You can download the update HERE. Also, I'll probably release a game or two tomorrow.

Press a key you would like to use

I finally finished this game. It's called Press a key you would like to use, and you can download it HERE. PAKYWLTU is somewhat inspired by a game called add special instructions, which adds a new keyboard key each level. My game is similar to that, only every key in my game is user-defined.

I'm very satisfied with how it turned out. I might return to it later, and add some sort of audio/music, and maybe a just few more controls. But that probably won't be any time soon.

Descension Update + Other thing

I made a small update to Descension today. I noticed that only being able to use the up arrow key was the most common complaint (other than the difficulty) so I changed it so you can also use the space bar. There's a few other changes, but most of them are too insignificant to notice. If being forced to use the up arrow key didn't bug you, it's really not worth re-downloading. Otherwise, you can get it here.

Other than that, I'm still working on my many projects. I expect that my next release will be the game of ever-increasing complexity shown below. I'm really pleased with the way it's going and I'm very confident that it's going to be great when I finish it.

February update

I'm currently working on an abstract, one-button game with glowy graphics. And no, it's not really related to deharmonized  at all. I intended to take maybe two days to make it, but it's taking much longer than I had originally intended.

I've got to stop starting new projects, and work on projects I've already started. Oh well.

I'm back forever!

I'm back! My computer has been 100% fixed, and I've installed an excellent antivirus program, so I don't expect that I'll be leaving soon!

A few things:

  • I found my flash drive, which has most of the .gmk files for projects I was working on, so I'll be able to resume work on them. Hooray!
  • I fixed a few problems with Lost. I fixed a glitch where people got stuck in trees. I also reduced its file size from 50.6 MB to about 7 MB. If you already have Lost downloaded, it doesn't really matter enough to download it again.
  • I'm probably going to release a short game to celebrate me getting my computer back soon, so you might want to look out for that.
  • Unordered lists are fun!
